Engagement is the "catalyst for everything" and differentiates a dynamic business with purpose from "simply a collection of people trying to get stuff done", according to Proudfoot chief executive Pamela Hacket.

She said engagement shouldn't be a "mystery" or revolve around a "high-cost gallery of giveaways", but rather should be driven by pragmatic solutions that are aligned with those being used to improve the overall business performance.

"You just need to look at them through a slightly expanded lens," Hacket said.
