Adam Matthews, Church of England: Collaboration can lead to higher standards
Church of England Pensions Board ethics and engagement director Adam Matthews told Mining Journal the investment community wanted to walk the path to better practice alongside the mining industry.
He said part of that process was the establishment of higher standards, such as the Global Tailings Review being recently published by the Principles for Responsible Investment and the Swedish Ethics Council, in league with the International Council on Mining and Metals.
Mining Journal Stakeholder Engagement is a platform for conversation between the mining industry and key stakeholders. The programme is designed to help set a practical path to better engagement, reduced risk and better practices.
